Skol Vikings!

It's a Vikings Sunday week! This week, the Minnesota Vikings schedule brings the Atlanta Falcons to town in a game that could determine the Vikings as the division champions. If they win, that is. It's a very big-deal game, so big deal that the time of the game has been changed from the original (and usual game time of) 12 noon to 3:15 in the afternoon. So if you're already purchased tickets, or if you have some to pick up, please keep that game time change in mind! It's going to be a super exciting day down in Minneapolis by the Metrodome, hopefully the Minnesota Vikings can keep the fans happy and our playoff hopes alive with a FABULOUS win!

If you're still looking for Minnesota Vikings tickets for Sunday's game, we still have some at awesome prices at Ticket King. Check out our website or give us a call at 651-298-8100.

Marrowthon

Recently, TicketKing St. Paul sponsored the t-shirts for the DeLaSalle High School Marrowthon - a 24 hour soccer and basketball marathon that raised money and awareness for bone marrow donations. It's a really awesome event, and they even sent me a t-shirt as a thank you for helping them with their cause, and it's pretty cool! I thought there would be more sponsors on the t-shirt, but there were just three, so it was pretty neat to see our name right smack dab on the front of the t-shirts!

Bitter Cold!

Wow, so I never expected to come back to Minnesota and experience the INTENSE COLD that is -10 degrees...with a -25 degree windchill. Gross. What happened to our mild winter with a hint of snow? I'm so confused. It's been FREEZING down here at Ticket King St. Paul so far this week. Between the cold and the snow last night, it was pretty quiet down here on West 7th Street, despite the fact that the annual Jingle Ball concert has happening at the Xcel Energy Center! Luckily for fans, there were some really great last minute deals to be had on Xcel Energy Center tickets last night, which was AWESOME for all the kids (can I call high schoolers kids? wow, I'm getting old) that wanted to go to the show at a more affordable price! Next show on the docket: Celine Dion Thursday night at the Target Center.

Ticket King St Paul has a lot of Friends
(some with fur)

Cortney is on vacation so Ticket Kristy (that’s me!) is holding down the fort. I thought I would take a minute to update everyone on the personal happenings of Ticket King St Paul this week.

Yesterday was a busy day here at Ticket King on West 7th Street. We had a lot of customers stop in to pick up tickets. I thought with the snow storm things would be slow, but I was wrong. The St Paul streets were cleared of snow by 9am and traffic was moving swiftly and parking was a breeze. I also had several customers stop in looking for holiday gifts for the sports fan in their life. I sold some Gophers Hockey tickets and Gophers Basketball Tickets (not St Paul events, I know, but we sell tickets to everything).

This morning, I also had to dispose of a furry mouse “friend” of Cortney’s. When I took out some trash from the basement, I noticed the mouse trap behind the bag had a dead furry critter firmly stuck to it. It was yucky, but I put on a brave face and a large plastic bag over my entire arm and carried the mouse to the garbage out back. I know Cortney will be happy to hear about all of this when she gets back!

p.s. The Ticket King St Paul fax drives me crazy – the fan is so loud and I have had to remove several paper jams.

Monday, Monday

Wow. There is not a whole heckuva lot going on down here at Ticket King St. Paul this week. Except that we do still have some super awesome Xcel Energy Center tickets available for Disney on Ice, so if you're looking to take the kiddies, you should definitely give us a call. There are some super fun events going on with our Ticket King Minneapolis store, so I thought we'd give you a head's up:

Oasis will be playing at the Target Center on Wednesday of this week. They haven't been here in forever! Should be a great show!

Again, for the kiddies: the Cheetah Girls will be playing at the Target Center on Thursday. Check 'em out, this is their last tour before the ladies part ways.

Annnd Minnesota Timberwolves tickets are still available for their games on Tuesday and Friday of this week. There's no better time to go check out all the action from some of the best seats in the house!

Jingle Ball

Jingle Ball is quite possibly one of the most popular, trendy holiday concerts we have this year down here at Ticket King St. Paul. There are a TON of super hot young artists that will be performing, like T.I., Rihanna, Lady Gaga... Along with all of the radio personalities that Twin Citians have become so fond of over the years from KDWB. And Ticket King customers seem to be pretty excited about the show. We have some awesome Jingle Ball tickets available, but they are moving super fast. So if you want to go to the show, don't miss your chance, buy them soon!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Yep, it's that time of year already. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be here this weekend! I can't believe that it's already holiday show time. I've never seen the TSO in person, but have only heard super fabulous things about it. I guess they have an awesome light show to accompany the music - so cool! Xcel Energy Center tickets are still available for BOTH TSO concerts, but they're moving fast, so make sure you check them out soon if you're looking! I love the Christmas in Sarajevo piece, and have it in piano form. I'm going to try to turn it into a duet so that my cousin and I can play it together on Christmas Day. I'll let you know how that goes.

Other hot holiday shows this year:

White Christmas at the Ordway Center

A Christmas Carol at the Guthrie Theater

Lorie Line at the State Theater

Mannheim Steamroller at the Orpheum Theater

As always, tickets are available at the Ticket King website, or by phone at 651-298-8100.

There's a chill in the air

Why is it suddenly winter? It's seriously SO cold down here at Ticket King St. Paul today! I had to walk to pick up some tickets, and I thought my ears were going to freeze off! Sadly, my favorite place, the Starbucks on West Seventh Street, is here no more, so I can't even stop to get a steaming hot coffee with the chilly weather. Although I do have to say, a steaming hot cocoa is sounding reaaaaaaallly good right now. We'll be down here until about...oh...seven or so tonight, because the Minnesota Wild are taking on the Colorado Avalanche tonight at the Xcel Energy Center. And I just want to remind all of our Ticket King Customers out there that it's SUPER easy to pick up any Xcel Energy Center tickets on your way to the game, show, whatever, because we're less than a block from the entrance to the Xcel! All you need to do when you're placing an online order with TicketKing is click the "St. Paul store pickup" for your delivery option, and you're all set to go!

Stay Warm! And Go Wild!!!

Testimonial Time!

I have another testimonial for all of you Ticket King St. Paul readers, this time from a customer who purchased Coldplay tickets for the show at the Xcel Energy Center for last Friday night's performance!

Dawn writes:

Julie:

Thank you for assisting me in the seat selection for the Coldplay
concert held on Friday, November 14th. The seats were AWESOME and the show was
great. I really appreciate the top notch customer service you provided to me.

Sincerly,

John Legend

Down here at Ticket King St. Paul, we're big fans of John Legend. His music is so phenomenal we can't even begin to explain our obsession with the man, the music, the Legend (a little laugh for ya. cheesy. sorry.). So you can imagine how ecstatic we were when we found out from the John Legend schedule that the tour would be stopping in Minneapolis for one show-stopping performance! Which happens to be taking place tomorrow night at Northrop Auditorium! Aren't you EXCITED? We are. Know what else you should be excited about? The fact that there are still some truly fabulous John Legend tickets available at even more fabulous prices.

As always, you can check out the Ticket King St. Paul website for details on ALL of the cheap event tickets we have to offer, or you can call us at 651-298-8100.

Coldplay

We're super busy down at Ticket King St. Paul for the Coldplay concert tonight! But I thought I'd drop a quick line to remind everyone that there is still a (limited quantity of) Minnesota Wild tickets available for tomorrow night's game. The Wild are currently tied for first place in the Division, there's never been a better time to catch the hometown boys on the ice of the Xcel Energy Center! If you're looking for tickets, check out the Ticket King St. Paul website or give us a call at 651-298-8100!

The Big Freeze

Remember back in June when all of the staffers down at Ticket King St. Paul were complaining about how HOT it was in the Ticket King St. Paul office? And we were sooo excited when the A/C was installed? Well. We have the exact opposite problem during the cold, winter months. The St. Paul office is really unique and super cool, everyone comments on the architecture and "real St. Paul flair" that you see when you walk into our little spot. Part of that flair comes from the fact that this is an original St. Paul building - meaning the heating situation is still kind of stuck in the dark ages. Well, just back to the days of radiator heat. Hah.

So, being an energy conservative company, we turned the heat off in the St. Paul office on Friday, because no one would be working here over the weekend. And boy oh boy, was that a bad idea. Monday morning rolls around with a predicted high of 32 degrees. A little icy, eh? And it took four hours just for the temperature to hit 63 degrees inside the office! Wow, we definitely won't be making that mistake again!

From....Minneapolis???

Yes, you heard right! The Ticket King St. Paul staff works at the Ticket King MINNEAPOLIS location for all of the games on the Minnesota Vikings schedule. It's pretty fun to see all of the avid Minnesota Vikings fans out on the streets getting geared up for the game! There's definitely quite a bit more tailgating that goes on down here before Minnesota Vikings games than we see in St. Paul for the Minnesota Wild games...but that might have something to do with the fact that it's usually a lot colder once we get into the core of the Minnesota Wild schedule than it is during football season.

With all that being said, it's pretty quiet right now on the streets of downtown Minneapolis. You would think that there would be a solid buzz because it's the biggest game of the year - the Minnesota Vikings are taking on the Green Bay Packers at the HHH Metrodome - but it's actually super low key! I'm not sure if that's a sign of a lacking fan base, the economy or just that it's REALLY cold out today, but hopefully things pick up as we get closer to game time, because there are still some Minnesota Vikings tickets available for today's game. Back to the Ticket King St. Paul office tomorrow!

'Skol Vikings!!!

Radio City Rockettes

Can you believe that we're already moving into the holiday season? Neither can we down here at Ticket King St. Paul. And nothing signals the start of the holidays like all of the shows that are starting to hit the Twin Cities theater district. Starting this weekend and running through November, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, aka the Rockettes are coming to town! I went to this show a few years ago with my family, we go to one or two of the holiday shows every November and December, and it was so much fun! It's family friendly, so you can bring the kids, and even Santa makes an appearance at the end of the show. Plus, Radio City Christmas Spectacular tickets are definitely one of the more economical ticket options for the shows coming to town for the holidays. It's a great time, and down here at Ticket King St. Paul we have a great selection of Rockettes tickets for all of their performances!

And if you're looking for any other shows going on this holiday season, just check out our Ticket King St. Paul website or give us a call, we'd be more than happy to help you out!

Busy, Busy Weekend

We are heading into a very busy weekend down here at Ticket King St. Paul. Tonight we have the long awaited Rascal Flatts concert at the Xcel Energy Center - a concert that I desperately want to go to, but we are almost completely out of Rascal Flatts tickets. I have a feeling that it's going to be a complete madhouse down here on West 7th Street tonight. Tomorrow night is the Minnesota Wild home opener - which means that you only have until midnight tonight to use the Gaborik discount code on our website to receive 5% off of your Minnesota Wild ticket purchase!

On Sunday, we welcome the Minnesota Vikings back home to the Metrodome where they'll be taking on the Detroit Lions. Vikings vs. Lions tickets are starting at only $10 - I can't remember the last time I've SEEN cheap Vikings tickets like this - hurry, they're moving super fast! As always, we're down here at Ticket King St. Paul today and tomorrow evening for the Wild game, and our Minneapolis location will be open today, tomorrow until 1 PM and Sunday from 9 AM until kickoff. Ticket King Marathon Party

Every year, Ticket King Minnesota throws a fabulous party for the Twin Cities Marathon. And every year, it's quite a hit - even when it downpours for the first part of the marathon. We've even been voted the top party along the entire TC Marathon route. This year was no exception, and the Ticket King Marathon Party went off without a hitch. Personally, I consumed waaay too much good food - mini-donuts, bagels, pizza, beer, candy...you get the idea. And I never made it into the blow up jumper, although it did seem to be a good time for all the kids. And Nicole, one of the Ticket King employees, even had her face painted by the face painter! Each year, there's a secret addition that no one knows about until the day of the party - and this year it was a photo booth, which was a HUGE hit. I can't wait for next year's party!

Weezer

Weezer will be playing at the Xcel Energy Center tomorrow night...and I know how excited all of you are :) I went to their last show at the Xcel Energy Center with the Foo Fighters, and it was really, really good. I haven't heard their most recent album released earlier this year, but the group has been around for ages and still has a huge following, so it must be pretty darn good. There are still some really excellent seats available for the show, check out the website or give us a call at 651-298-8100 if you're looking for tickets to tomorrow night's show!

Twins vs. White Sox Tickets

The end of the regular season Minnesota Twins schedule is almost here. They're two and a half games out of the first place spot in the division - the Chicago White Sox have a slight lead over the hometown boys. They're pretty far out of the Wild Card race, so they're going to have to take the Sox for everything they've got if they want to make it to the post-season! Good news: The Chicago White Sox will be playing the Minnesota Twins at the Metrodome on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week and Ticket King St. Paul has tickets that are still available! More good news: traditionally (knock on wood) the Chicago White Sox have had trouble winning games at the Dome, so we've definitely got an advantage over them! Don't miss your chance to see the Minnesota Twins stick it to the Chicago White Sox for three of their last six regular season home games this year, buy your Twins vs. White Sox tickets today!

Another Testimonial!

I received an email a while ago from a Ticket King customer. She and her husband purchased Vikings vs. Steelers tickets from us in August, and they had a GREAT experience at the game. Her husband has been very ill with leukemia, and they actually ended up sitting in a suite for the game - she writes:

My Dear Cortney,

My husband and I purchased tickets to see the Vikings play the Steelers on
Saturday August 24th. My husband is in a wheelchair as he recently had a bone
marrow transplant. We were unable to get his wheelchair to our seats, and ended
up being able to watch the game from a suite! This made my husband so happy he
was crying. He has never been able to come to a game before, only watched them
on T.V. - you made a very sick man very happy. He watches all of the games with
pride, and now he can tell everybody how well he was taken care of. Thank you
from the bottom of my heart.

-Carol

I love hearing about your experiences at events after buying tickets from us, email me your story and it could end up either on the blog or the site!

CNN Grill

For the Republican National Convention, CNN (the cable news station) rented out the Eagle Street Grill's prime location right across the street from the Xcel Energy Center (and four doors down from Ticket King St. Paul). They transformed the local eatery into their newsroom and a "new" restaurant, dubbed the CNN Grill, for the week of the event, complete with neon signs, window graphics and...napkins. I ordered lunch from Eagle Street last Friday, and they sent over my (fabulous) St. Paul Fever Salad with leftover napkins from the CNN invasion, which is actually pretty cool, and I thought I'd share with all of you!

Vikings vs. Colts tickets are limited, but still available, and our Minneapolis store will be open on Saturday and Sunday for picking those bad boys up. Ticket King Minneapolis is located two blocks NORTH of the Metrodome on the corner of Chicago and Washington - so on the same block as the Old Spaghetti Factory.

We are also carrying great tickets for the full Minnesota Vikings schedule. Visit our website or call us at 651-298-8100 for more ticket information.

Twins vs. Royals

The Minnesota Twins are back at home (finally!), and are taking on the Kansas City Royals this week. This is their chance to really grab the reins, win some games and get closer to edging out the Chicago White Sox to win that divisional title that would get them a spot in the playoffs. If you want to catch the Twins before the end of the regular season, you'd better hurry! Including today's game, there are only nine more opportunities to catch a game at home. Our website currently has the most up-to-date information on Twins tickets that we have available, you can always call me at 651-298-8100 for information as well.

On a side note, the Minnesota Vikings have their home opener this SUNDAY at the Metrodome at noon. You definitely don't want to miss the Minnesota Vikings take on the Indianapolis Colts, and, although our inventory seems to be shrinking pretty rapidly right now, we do still have some Vikings vs. Colts tickets for this weekend available on our website.

Biggest Vikings Fan

We had the pleasure of meeting the Minnesota Vikings biggest fan ever in our Ticket King Minneapolis location this week. She came into our office with her mentor looking to pick up some Vikings vs. Colts tickets that her mentor had ordered the week before, and had the most purple pride of any Vikings fan we had ever met! One of the owners happened to be in the office when she stopped by, was so moved by her dedication to the team that he gave her an authentic Randy Moss autographed helmet that we had on display at our office. If you happen to catch her at the Metrodome, make sure you stop to say hi to the biggest Minnesota Vikings fan at the game!

RNC Aftermath

So I'm down here in our Ticket King St. Paul office, surveying the aftermath of the RNC. As you can see, my beautiful historic office is filled to the brim with things from Eagle Street - they needed somewhere to store their things while CNN took over the restaurant. It looks about the same outside - the police are still barracading the one block radius around the Xcel, it's still feels weird to be down here with all this stuff going on, even though it's been a week since it all started. We'll be back to business as usual at Ticket King St. Paul on Monday, have a good weekend!

Bad At Updates

I've been such a bad updater this week! But, I have a slight excuse...Ticket King St. Paul is closed this week. Actually, apparently they put up huge barricades in downtown St. Paul that have made actually accessing the shops down there pretty difficult. It has been pretty exciting watching all of the CNN broadcasts out of the Eagle Street Grill, though!

So just to give you an update, the Minnesota Twins play at home against the Detroit Tigers at the HHH Metrodome this weekend, their first home series in TWO WEEKS! If you're looking for Twins vs. Tigers tickets, we're open for business in our Minneapolis office through the weekend, so check out the site or give us a call at 612-341-4131 if you're looking for tickets!

Crazy in STP

It's nuts down here by Ticket King St. Paul. There are so many people everywhere you turn, I just can't believe that the RNC is almost here. We've been talking about it for SO long - and tomorrow the street baracades go up. There's a huge "free speech" tent that's gone up across the street from the Xcel Energy Center on the corner of W. 7th and Kellogg - the empty parking lot space. And the big screen on the exterior of the Xcel shows the interior build-out of the arena for the speeches - it's actually pretty cool. We actually had some of the bomb squad guys come in and buy tickets at Ticket King St. Paul last week, and that was really interesting. They've been in town for five or six weeks making sure that the Xcel and surrounding areas are safe! There are people walking around everywhere down here with the super special "RNC member" lanyards. Man, I'm glad we're going to be closed for the next week, it's going to be complete craziness down on the streets of St. Paul!

Week of August 25th at Ticket King

It's the last week of August, and the Minnesota State Fair is in full swing! Annnd to be honest with you that's pretty much all that's going on this week. No home games on the Minnesota Vikings schedule and the Twins are still on their 14-day away game bender. Here's what's up at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand this week:

Monday, August 25th: Dierks Bentley tickets

Tuesday, August 26th: Paramore tickets

Wednesday, August 27th: Mark Schultz tickets

Friday, August 29th: Prairie Home Companion tickets

AND also on the event list this week:

MINNESOTA GOLDEN GOPHERS TICKETS

for their first regular season home football game of the season at the HHH Metrodome. Don't miss these guys in their last season at the Dome - they're shaping up to be a great team this year! And ticket prices can't be beat for this Saturday's game. You can even pick them up on your way down there at our Minneapolis location, two blocks north of the Metrodome on the corner of Chicago and Washington. Call us at 651-298-8100 or check out our website for more information!

Vikings vs. Steelers

The Minnesota Vikings are taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers TOMORROW at the HHH Metrodome! I know it's just a preseason game, but it's been SUPER popular with all of our customers - I suppose it doesn't hurt that we have tickets starting at just $5 for this game. If you're looking for something else to do this weekend, why not check out a show at the State Fair?? Jonny Lang is playing at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand on Sunday night, and Dierks Bentley will be playing with Miranda Lambert at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand on Monday night!

Give us a call (651-298-8100) or check out our website for ticket information!

Ticket King and the RNC

Things are pretty crazy both inside and outside of the office down here at Ticket King St. Paul! With Vikings season kicking into full gear, and the Minnesota Timberwolves schedule, Minnesota Wild schedule and Minnesota Gophers schedule soon to follow, we are super busy with sports tickets right now. And the preparations for the RNC at the Xcel Energy Center have made it quite hectic on the streets of St. Paul. Just a note to all of our customers, Ticket King St. Paul will be closed starting Friday, August 29th and will re-open Monday, September 8th for the convention - but Ticket King Minneapolis, conveniently located two blocks from the Metrodome on the corner of Chicago and Washington, will be open during that time. If you have tickets at the St. Paul office to pick up for events during the RNC and don't have a chance to pick them up before next Thursday, they will be available for pick up in Minneapolis. Email me with any questions!

Final Saints Homestand!

The St. Paul Saints have only SIX regular season home games left - which means you only have six more opportunities to check out their famous tailgate and game giveaways this season! There are a few featured events on their calender that would make a perfect last-dash-of-summer/back-to-school treat!

Saints vs. Wingnuts tickets
for August 16th will put you in the running for a lunchbox giveaway sponsored by Xcel Energy!

Saints vs. Saltdogs tickets
for August 20th will get you into the final regular season game and give you access to the FIREWORKS DISPLAY for fan appreciation night.

Week of August 11th at Ticket King St. Paul

IT'S THE TWINS VS. YANKEES SERIES THIS WEEK!!!!

Obviously we're more than a little excited to have this matchup right now, although I'm slightly concerned as far as our divisional ranking goes if the Twins haven't gotten over their last meeting with the Yankees. Anyway, we still have a good number of Twins vs. Yankees tickets available, but they're moving quickly so you'd better act fast!

Chris Isaak tickets
are still available for his show playing at the Minnesota Zoo this coming Wednesday evening. The shows at the Zoo are pretty cool - they convert the bird ampitheater into a concert venue.

The Saint Paul Saints are taking on the Wichita Wingnuts in their second-to-last series of the season. Get in on all the fun at their famous tailgate and catch an outdoor game at Midway Stadium - while the Saints vs. Wingnuts tickets are still around!

The second series on the Minnesota Twins schedule this week happens this coming weekend when the Twins take on the Seattle Mariners at the Metrodome Friday through Sunday. With the divisional battle for first place going on, Twins Mariners tickets are hot, hot, hot!

Remember, our website is active 24/7 and our phones (651-298-8100) are manned from 8 AM to 6 PM with extended hours on game days, so let us know if you're looking for tickets to any upcoming events!

Thursday, August 7, 2008

We have BIG Weekend Plans!

This is going to be quite a busy weekend at Ticket King. To kick things off, we have the first Minnesota Vikings Pre-season game of the year:

VIKINGS VS. SEAHAWKS TICKETS
are still available for tomorrow night's game at incredibly discounted prices - buy now for the best selection - and you can pick up two blocks from the Metrodome tomorrow anytime between 8 AM and 7 PM. You can also call us at 651-298-8100 if you don't want to order online!

The "event of the year", as it's been dubbed, is happening Saturday night at the Target Center: UFC 87 tickets are moving fast, I can't believe how popular this event is. Much bigger than WWE, and way more awesome :-)

James Blunt and Sheryl Crow
will be playing at Northrop Auditorium Saturday night, as well. I have a feeling that this will be a really fun concert to go see, and there are only a couple of seats left to the entire sold-out show. If you're interested, you'd better get a move on before the tickets are gone!

For the kids: The Wiggles are playing all weekend as well, and we still have a few Wiggles tickets lying around the office that just came in - if you're looking to occupy the kiddies this weekend, you'll definitely be their favorite person EVER if you take them to this highly-anticipated children's show!

Week of August 4th at Ticket King

Hey all of you Ticket King blog readers! It was definitely a good weekend for the Minnesota Twins as they took over the first place position in our division. It's still a little early to be talking playoffs, but this Minnesota Twins fan definitely has her fingers crossed!

If you want to catch the fabulous Minnesota Twins in action, the Minnesota Twins schedule doesn't bring the hometown boys back to the Metrodome until next Monday through Wednesday, when they'll be taking on the New York Yankees. This isn't a series that you want to miss, it's been quite a few years since we've had the Yankees at home this late in the series, and the boys are definitely prepped to bring their "A" game to the field to make up for last month's {slight blip} at Yankee Stadium.

Here's what's going on THIS week in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area:

August 4th and 5th: Los Lonely Boys tickets

August 7th through 9th: The Wiggles tickets

August 9th: UFC 87 tickets

It's going to be a much more busy week at Ticket King St. Paul than what we've had for the last couple of weeks, and we are SO excited that the Minnesota Vikings schedule takes us to the Metrodome this FRIDAY for the first home pre-season game of the year! S'kol Vikes!

Friday, August 1, 2008

This week has been absolutely crazy down here at Ticket King with Twins fever kicking into high gear, and the Minnesota Vikings preseason starting next week! If you're looking for a super fun thing to do this weekend, go check out a game at the Dome. Ticket King still has some availablility for Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Indians tickets, and you're seriously not going to find a better deal anywhere else.

Now onto more important things...I've recently become tuned into Duffy, who is classified is neo sould, rock and roll, and blues. She has kind of an Amy Winehouse kind of sound, minus the drugs and crazy lady image. She's really just a cute blonde from Wales. And I think all of you Ticket King St. Paul customers should check out her music if you haven't already...so here's a YouTube video of the UK version of her video, Mercy.

:side note: the US version is cool, too, but I can't get it to load here, I just have the link.:

St. Paul Saints vs. Fort Worth Cats tickets
:

Hmmm...sounds like some pretty fun nights out at Midway Stadium to me!!

Minnesota WIld Schedule

I don't know about the rest of you, but our favorite time of year down here at Ticket King St. Paul is just around the corner - Minnesota Wild season! And with the Minnesota Wild schedule recently announced, we thought it was very important to let all of our loyal hockey fan customers know that Ticket King definitely has some really great availability for all of the Minnesota Wild games this season! Here are the games from the Minnesota Wild schedule that THIS Minnesota Wild fan is most looking forward to this season:

October 11th vs. the Boston Bruins: It's the home opener!

October 30th vs. the Montreal Canadians: The Habs are an institution!

November 24th vs. the Washington Capitals: C'mon, Alex Ovechkin, MVP!

November 28th vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning: To see Wes Walz again!

December 31st vs. the San Jose Sharks: NYE game is the best of the year!

January 3rd vs. the Detroit Red Wings: Stanley Cup Champions!

February 14th vs. the Ottawa Senators: JASON SPEZZA!

March 17th vs. the Colorado Avalanche: Love the competition!

April 10th vs. the Nashville Predators: Last regular season home game of the year!

Ok, I'm obviously a little bit in love (hence all of the exclamations) with the Minnesota Wild, but being that Ticket King St. Paul is just down the street from the Xcel Energy Center, it's probably a benefit to our customers that I know what's going down over there (-: And Ticket King St. Paul has the BEST Minnesota Wild tickets to every game on the Minnesota Wild schedule this year, give me a call at 651-298-8100 or check out the site for the most up to date ticket information. Peace out!

W. 7th Starbucks

I love Starbucks, that much is clear to anyone who spends more than three hours a week around me. A grande dark roast in a venti cup with a splash of skim milk (some Starbucks locations are actually serving fat free half and half, which is super yummy) will put a smile on my face at any time of day. Just a block and a half down West 7th Street from my Ticket King St. Paul office is my favorite Starbucks in the Twin Cities. The staff is awesome, they know me when I come in (surprise, surprise on that one, right?) and they always have a fresh batch of coffee brewing. Starbucks has recently come out with some protein drinks, which are apparently really really good, according to my friend Molly. Since I'm a Starbucks card holder (which is the greatest addition to my wallet, I get emails all the time about trying new things and getting free drinks!) I have a free one coming my way this weekend, so I'll have to let all of you Ticket King customers if it lives up to the hype.

Minnesota Twins Tickets

The Minnesota Twins schedule is heating up - and I can't believe how fast Minnesota Twins tickets are going out the door down here at Ticket King St. Paul for the next two weeks worth of games! We still have a pretty decent selection available, but this MLB team is hot, hot, hot! Here's what they've got coming up, if you're interested:

♥ Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox Tickets: July 28th through July 31st

♥ Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Indians Tickets: August 1st through August 3rd

♥ Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees Tickets: August 11th through August 13th

ALSO!!! We're only two weeks away from the first Minnesota Vikings home preseason game! Don't miss out on the great pricing that we have available for the games before the regular season starts, buying pre-season tickets is a great way to get the entire family out to a game this season at a reasonable price!

Las Vegas

The NATB conference in Las Vegas was great! There were some really informative panels and seminars on the state of the industry from every angle. With all of the mergers and deals that have gone down over the course of the last year or so between the primary and secondary markets, it was really interesting to hear what all of our ticket broker friends/colleagues had to say on how their businesses have been affected and how they think the industry is going to change in the next year or so.

I know that I am completely biased (obviously, since I work for Ticket King I'm going to be a huge proponent of our company (-: ) but I really wish that consumers realized how much better off they are by going through Ticket King over these larger "broker corporations". Not only do you get a better price and not have to pay a service fee when you order your tickets through us or on our website, but you get SUCH better customer service. When you call Ticket King, you're talking to people who actually care to make sure that the customer is able to purchase what they're looking for, is knowledgeable about tickets and venues and the customer doesn't sit on hold for five or ten minutes while they wait for someone to pick up the phone! It seriously blows me away that these companies claim to have such good customer service when a customer will sit on hold for five plus minutes just waiting to talk to someone for the first time.

Lesson to be learned: if you want the best ticketing experience in the industry, order your tickets through Ticket King!

The History of Air Conditioning

Since we are SO excited to finally have air conditioning in our Ticket King St. Paul location, I thought I'd share the origins of the a/c unit! The idea of cooling a space has long been in existence. Ancient Romans used aqueducts to push water through building walls to cool them. Ventilators were invented in Egypt and used during the Middle Ages. In 1842, a Florida doctor figured out how to use ice and a fan to cool the rooms of his patients. The first real air conditioning unit was developed in 1902 by Willis Haviland Carrier to control temperature and humidity in a printing plant - and since it worked so well, teh Carrier Air Conditioning Company was formed to improve the comfort level in homes, businesses and cars. In the 1950's, the A/C trend really took hold and has just increased through today, where A/C is more of a necessity than a commodity. So there you have it, the origins of A/C.

NATB Conference

Something that many people don't know is that Ticket King Minnesota is a member of the National Association of Ticket Brokers, or NATB. I think what people don't realize is that there actually is an official ticket broker association that helps to regulate and protect the industry. Every July, there is a big conference that brokers go to from all around the country - and I'll be there this weekend. So stop in to say hi to the Ticket King-ers that will be working at Ticket King St. Paul on Thursday and Friday in my absence, I'm sure they'd love to see you! Ticket Kristy will be down here for the Saturday Neil Diamond show, and I'll be back in time for the Sunday show. Speaking of which, Ticket King St. Paul has a few really great seats available that recently came in for these two shows with superstar performer Neil Diamond, so if you're still looking for Neil Diamond tickets, give us a call at 651-298-8100!

Ticket King Mascot

Well, the results are in...and apparantly everyone (minus the people who work here that voted "NO") wants to see the Ticket King Mascot at Ticket King ST. Paul for some of the Minnesota Wild home games this year. I'll let you all know if this will ACTUALLY happen once I convince someone to wear the mascot around the Ticket King office.
P.S. the Minnesota Wild schedule will be released today or tomorrow, check out our website for the most up-to-date information!

Baseball, Baseball, Baseball

It's that time of year in between school getting out and football season starting when the most fabulous sporting thing to do during the week is to catch a couple of baseball games. Whether it's catching an outdoor Saints baseball game, taking in a Minnesota Twins game at the Metrodome or flying out to Yankee Stadium for a weekend series, Ticket King St. Paul has you covered. In addition to how much fun you and the fam will have AT the game, there are some great promotions and giveaways at a lot of the games that make them so much better!

To kick things off, let's see what wacky events/giveaways you'll get to check out by buying St. Paul Saints tickets for an upcoming game....

TODAY, July 15th, the Saints are throwing a retirement party for baseball commissioner Bud Selig. TOMORROW, July 16th, you don't want to miss the crazy tailgating featuring the "A Monkey Can Do That...And We're Going To Prove It" bit - I'm not sure what all that means, but it's sure to be a fun time down at the best tailgating party in the Twin Cities! THURSDAY, July 17th is Noodles & Co. takeaway night....and it's the best night of hte year to donate school supplies at Midway Stadium for underpriviledged kids.

The Minnesota Twins have some super fun giveaways for this weeked - and all you have to do is purchase Minnesota Twins vs. Texas Rangers tickets for one of the games (and be one of the first 5,000 to 10,000 fans, of course).

FRIDAY, July 18th you could walkaway with a Twins "Dirt" Shirt if you're one of the first 5,000 people in the venue over the age of 18. Saturday, July 19th the first 10,000 patrons will receive a free Delmon Young bobblehead. SUNDAY, July 20th, the first 5,000 fans that are under the age of fourteen will receive a free Justin Morneau jersey. PLUS you get to see our future legends in action right after the All-Star Game!

Week of July 14th

I hope everyone was able to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend! It was perfect for hanging out by the lakes, hitting up the Basilica Block Party and then grabbing a cocktail on the roof of Stella's Fish Cafe in Uptown.

I have a treat for all of the Ticket King St. Paul customers out there - well, it will seem like a treat after last week's barren list of events around the twin cities. There's actually some stuff going on this week! So let's get to it, here is what's happening in the metro area:
July 18th: Poison tickets
July 19th: Jimmy Buffet tickets (at Alpine Valley)
July 19th and 20th: Neil Diamond tickets

There is tons more to do this week than last week, it would be GREAT to check out a baseball game with how nice the weather is going to be this week...before we know it there will be snow on the ground and we'll be complaining about the negative thirty wind chill, so get out there and enjoy the summertime goodness!

I Like It, I Love It

Since we've had a relatively slow couple of days as far as events actually happening this week, I thought I'd compile a list of what we're really looking forward to over the next month and a half down here at Ticket King St. Paul and Ticket King Minneapolis.

First and foremost, next Wednesday the Minnesota Wild schedule is released. This has got to be one of the highlights of my summer :)

The Minnesota Twins schedule matches them up with a division rival, the Chicago White Sox between July 28th and 31st. This is always a fun series to go to, especially as we head into the last third of the season. We have a good selection right now of Twins vs. White Sox tickets.

The Minnesota Vikings schedule kicks into high gear for the pre-season the beginning of August. Their first home game is Friday, August 8th at 7 PM where they'll be taking on the Seattle Seahawks. The second home pre-season game will be against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the 23rd of August, a Saturday, at 7 PM. Ticket King has really awesome Vikings vs. Seahawks tickets and Vikings vs. Steelers tickets, check out our website or give us a call (651-298-8100) if you're looking!

My favorite baseball series (ok, sometimes, like this year, we're matched up more than once, but I don't know how you would spell the plural of series?) is when the New York Yankees come into town to take on our hometown boys. Twins vs. Yankees tickets are a hot item at any time of year, and since this series is right in the heat of baseball season (August 11 through August 13), make sure you get yours early!

The first home Minnesota Golden Gopher football game will be August 30th at the Metrodome - this is such a fun game to go to, if you have that evening open, keep it that way! Gophers vs. Huskies football tickets are available by phone or online through Ticket King.

The first home Minnesota Golden Gopher hockey game is October 10th. Still quite a ways away, but the early bird gets the worm on this one, Gopher hockey tickets ALWAYS sell out early.

Have a fabulous weekend!

A/C, Finally.

Well, all...Ticket King St. Paul FINALLY has some air conditioning! It's so much nicer to have cooler temps in here...especially with the ninety degree weather headed towards us on Friday. And it looks just as good as it feels in this office today! Since the construction is done, the office is finally cleaned up, so it's actually a workable space again, it's not like you're entering a danger zone by coming into Ticket King St. Paul anymore.

I had a W. 7th Street neighbor stop into our office yesterday in the morning wanting to know about our plans for the Republican National Convention that will be taking place at the Xcel Energy Center at the beginning of September. Just as a forewarning, Ticket King St. Paul will most likely not be open that week. Never say never, but it's going to be way too crazy down here for us to warrant being open. In which case I will be working out of our Minneapolis office, which is about two blocks from the Metrodome on the corner of Chicago and Washington, just in time for the start of the Gopher football season!

I love the first home Minnesota Golden Gopher football game. It's like the fall season has really started, and it's so neat to see the marching band line up outside the Metrodome getting everyone riled up for the game. Ticket King has some really awesome tickets for the home games, too, so if you're looking to catch a couple of the football games this year, check out our website or give me a call at 651-298-8100.

:SIDE NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE VENUE WHEN PURCHASING MINNESOTA GOLDEN GOPHERS TICKETS ON OUR WEBSITE. ALL OF THE SPORTS LIST ON THE SAME PAGE, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR FOOTBALL GAMES MAKE SURE IT SAYS THAT THE GAME IS AT THE METRODOME, HOCKEY SHOULD SAY MARIUCCI ARENA, ETC.

Week of July 7th at Ticket King

I have really great news for all of you Ticket King St. Paul fans that were concerned about our lack of A/C over the past few months...it will be finished by the end of the week! I'm super pumped, so I figure everyone else must be, too ;-)

Anyway, here's what's going on this week at Ticket King St. Paul:

Monday, July 7th: Susan Tedeschi tickets, George Michael tickets
Wednesday, July 9th: Minnesota Lynx vs. Atlanta Dream tickets
Saturday, July 12th: Minnesota Lynx vs. Houston Comets tickets

Yep, that's it. Nothing else. It's going to be a slow week in the Twin Cities....

US Open Story

Although we've only been at the Ticket King St. Paul location for about a year, our company has been around for almost twenty years - the last three of which I spent in our Hudson, Wisconsin location. Because we've been around for so long, we have some very long time customers that email me their sports/concert/theater stories every once in a while. I received a very neat email earlier this week about a Ticket King St. Paul customer's experience at the Women's US Open last week that I thought I would share with all of you bloggers!
I was at the U.S. Women's Open on Wed., Thurs. and Sunday. I
took my nephew Sunday and we set up by the 11th/18th tee boxes for the first 4
hours and got to see all but the first five groups play there. Then, we headed
over to where the 12 and 17 tee boxes are. Got to see the rest of the groups, so
so saw all 74 golfers play at least one hold. After Annika teed off on 17, we
headed over to the 18 fairway to watch her play the final hole of any Womne's
Open (U.S.). It was so crowded that we set up at a spot about 200 yards short of
the green. So, as she was getting ready to hit her third shot to the par 5
green, we were directly behind her, probably about 30 yards away. So, Taylor and
i got to witness some history --- seeing her make the 199 yard 6 iron to get an
eagle on her last hole of any US Open. We are searching the videos and photos to
see if we can find ourselves in the background.
Great story, Pryce!! If any of our other Ticket King St. Paul customers have their own stories to tell, email them to me! I'm out for the rest of the long weekend, have a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Minnesota State Fair Concerts

As we're edging in on the start of the greatest festival of the summer in Minnesota, the Minnesota State Fair, more commonly referred to as the Great Minnesota Get Together, I thought I'd bring your attention to all of the great shows that are going to be at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand this summer!

Thursday, August 21st: 3 Doors Down tickets
Friday, August 22nd: Brad Paisley tickets

Saturday, August 23rd: Backstreet Boys tickets

Sunday, August 24th: Jonny Lang tickets

Monday, August 25th: Dierks Bentley tickets

Tuesday, August 26th: Paramore tickets

Thursday, August 28th: Mark Schultz tickets

Friday, August 29th: Prairie Home Companion tickets

Saturday, August 30th: Black Crowes tickets

Monday, September 1st: Toby Keith tickets

There are so many shows that I want to go to, it's going to be hard to pick and choose. I'm thinking maybe I need to buy 3 Doors Down tickets, Brad Paisley tickets, Jonny Lang tickets, Dierks Bentley tickets (I'm totally in love with Miranda Lambert's cd, and she's coming here with him!) and maybe some Toby Keith tickets, too.

I'm Back, I'm Back!

Well, Ticket Cortney is back in action down here at Ticket King St. Paul. And I have super exciting news: our brand new air conditioner was dropped off today! It won't be installed until next week, but just the fact that it's actually IN the office is exciting. The lake was a blast, but I am definitely glad to be back to work in the office. I love going on vacation, but apparently the workaholic side of this ticket gal likes to work even more, haha. With all the catch up work from the past couple of days, I have the Kelly Clarkson song, Since You've Been Gone, stuck in my head!

Anyway, this weekend is the much-anticipated Minnesota Twins vs. Milwaukee Brewers series! Check out the Twins Brewers tickets on our site or give us a call at 651-298-8100 if you're looking for tickets to this weekend's series.

Lee Ann Womack tickets are still available for her concert tonight at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, too. We have a few John Hiatt tickets left for tomorrow's show at the Pantages, and Lucinda Williams tickets are still floating around for Monday's concert at the Minnesota Zoo Ampitheatre.

Have a great weekend!
