Has anyone else been down by the Metrodome on Vikings game days this season? Ever since Brett Favre joined the Minnesota Vikings roster, it's been absolutely innundated with ticket scalpers that I've never seen before. Gophers vs. Golden Bears - Questions Pertaining to TCF Bank Stadium

Apparently at last weekend's Gopher football schedule home opener at the brand new TCF Bank Stadium, there were some little...glitches...for the fans attending the game. We just received notice down here at Ticket King Saint Paul that they're working to fix some of those glitches to make the game a more enjoyable experience for all of you attending the game. The most noted changes should be...

1. There were some line issues at last weekends Gopher football game. Some fans had to wait in line for up to half an hour just to get through the entry gates! To help combat this, they will be opening the gates two hours prior to game time, opening two additional gates that went unused last weekend on the East side of the stadium and staffing more people at each gate to speed up the entry process.

2. There was a food shortage and long wait times for concessions at last weekend's game. In response to this, they will be adding additional portable food stands around the stadium to increase supply (and help decrease lines), double the number of sellers that run up and down the stands with concessions and increase their food storage.

3. There was a long wait for the post-game shuttle service to the U of M St. Paul campus. To make sure this doesn't happen again, the University will be adding buses with multiple doors to speed up transit/getting on and off the bus, close part of the route the bus takes to non-buses, add signage to waiting areas to combat confusion and also add a disability only shuttle service at a separate location.

It's been a pretty dreary week weather-wise down here at Ticket King St. Paul, as I'm sure many of you have also been experiencing around Minny, too! All week we've been asking, "what happened to summer?"... But now, it's officially sunny and (seemingly) warm out on West Seventh Street. Remember that big Ticket Conference that I went to in Vegas last summer? Well, I'm actually speaking at Ticket Summit this summer! Legally Blonde Hits St. Paul

The smash broadway musical Legally Blonde hits the Ordway schedule in St. Paul starting this Friday! It's an absolutely fantastic show, based on the original hit movie that starred Reese Witherspoon as California-fashion-girl-turned-Harvard-law-student Elle Woods. It's been a highly anticipated wait, but Minnesota is finally getting it's chance to host the production. I actually had a chance to check it out on Broadway in NYC, and it's too good to miss. The costumes, songs and set design bring you right into the story, and it's super fun to check out the parallels to the actual movie script, for those of us who fell in love with Elle Woods in the Hollywood version.

Long Week

I have a feeling that it's going to be a slow week down here at Ticket King St. Paul. After last week's whirlwind of a crazy hockey and basketball schedule around the Twin Cities venues, it's pretty dead around town. There's literally nothing.going.on. At least until Saturday, when Jay Leno will performing at Mystic Lake and Sunday when the Timberwolves take on the New Jersey Nets. Next week, however, is a different story. Our Minnesota Wild come home on Tuesday to the Xcel Energy Center to take on their arch rival, the Vancouver Canucks in one of only three regular season home games left this season. They're hanging on, and with Marian Gaborik back on the Minnesota Wild roster, they actually might have a shot at making it to the NHL playoffs, if they really want to. Although captain Mikko Koivu is possibly out for the rest of the season with an injury sustained in Sunday's game against the Edmonton Oilers, which could definitely hurt the morale of the team. That being said, next Tuesday's game is going to be a clincher, and we've already moved a ton of tickets for that game. WCHA Madness

This week has been a jumble for Ticket King Saint Paul and Ticket King Minneapolis. I've been working between the two offices, and luckily Ticket Kristy has been able to come in and cover the St. Paul office while I've been gone. The NCAA tournament is a really big deal this year, and it happens to be coinciding with the WCHA tournament, which starts tonight at the Xcel Energy Center. Tonight's series has the Minnesota Golden Gophers facing off against the UMD Bulldogs. And we've sold out of Minnesota hockey tickets for tonight's game! This game determines whether or not our Gophers will be playing through the rest of the tournament this weekend, so Gopher fans are pretty hyped up to go to the game to support the team.

Ticket King on St. Patty's Day

Wow. That's about the only word that any of us at Ticket King St. Paul can come up with to describe St. Patrick's Day on West Seventh Street. Last night was complete mayhem, and the city now reeks of booze. But I think that patrons on West Seventh definitely enjoyed their St. Patrick's Day. Bonus: The Minnesota Wild beat the Colorado Avalanche last night, tying the game just minutes before it ended and kicking some major booty in the shoot out. Props to the Minnesota Wild roster.

This Sunday, the Minnesota Wild take on the Edmonton Oilers at the Xcel Energy Center in one of the final five home games of the regular season. And they actually still have the ability to make the playoffs this year, despite their lousy play over the last couple of months. Fans seem to still be supporting the team, we only have SIX tickets left for Sunday's game, so if you're looking for some Minnesota Wild tickets for this weekend, act fast!!

NCAA @ the Dome

Today is a crazy day at Ticket King! The teams were announced for the NCAA tournament at the Metrodome, and North Dakota fans are going crazy for NCAA basketball tickets! The Dome is definitely not my favorite venue to watch college basketball, but March Madness is March Madness, and Minneapolis is going to be taken over by college basketball fans despite where the tournament is being held.

Apparently, this is the first year that NDSU has even been eligible for the tournament, and they made it through to the first round, which has the fans all riled up. And with the Fighting Sioux in the WCHA tournament at the Xcel Energy Center this weekend as well, I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot of green around the Twin Cities all weekend long. Get ready for college sports fever, guys!
