Slow Day

It's a slow day here at Ticket King St. Paul today. Probably because there is NOTHING going on. Except for the Boys High School Wrestling Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center, which we don't carry tickets to. Again, it makes me feel old to see the high school kids running around on the streets down here between Cossetta's and the Xcel. And it makes me hungry for a Cossetta's salad to think about Cossetta's! One of those might be in order for dinner tonight...mmmmm. I did go down and get Starbucks earlier. Sometimes they overbrew their dark roast, but I still like it. You just have to add a little extra milk when it gets that strong! I think they might get annoyed with me there. I always order a medium dark roast and have them put it in a large cup (their sizes confuse me, so I just order s/m/l), because if I get the cup all the way full I spill on myself on the walk back to the Ticket King office. They think it's because I put that much cream in my coffee, haha. Anyway, that's all for now. Write later.

Hockey Trip

I think a hockey trip to Canada next winter would be super fun. You know, travel around and visit some of the arenas. Well, really I'd like to go to see a game where the Minnesota Wild are playing in Calgary against the Calgary Flames, so that then I can make a trip to Banff for a ski weekend. I guess Lake Louise is supposed to be a pretty fabulous area. And I really really really want to stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. It looks like a castle. The only problem is that I don't ski. Or snowboard. I'm not really coordinated at things like that. That being said, I would still like to go on the trip, maybe even swing up to Edmonton to see an Edmonton Oilers game? Hmm....I think I have some planning to do.

Ticket King TV

About half the people who stop into my office comment on my TV. It's pretty huge, it's a 52" flat screen, and it's just kind of sitting on a desk right now, so it does catch your eye when you walk in. I don't really have it on that much, unless there's an NHL hockey game or I'm listening to music videos or something. In fact, usually I have something going on Pandora, which is such a cool and unique free music service on the web. But anyway, back to the TV. Some people have actually thought that the TV was my computer monitor. Boy, would I have a headache if I had that thing in my face all day long! Isn't that overstimulating your eyes and your brain by, well, a lot more than you're supposed to? I think there was a Grey's Anatomy episode where Izzy and George were attempting to force a woman to have a seizure, and that was one of the methods they used - they had her watch a large TV right in front of her face. Yes, I am a Grey's Anatomy addict. The only problem is that I don't have time to watch it during the week, so I have to wait until the end of the season, buy it, and marathon watch every episode. I'm currently re-watching Season 2. I'm almost to the episode where Denny dies. That one tends to make me sad. Well, back to work for me. Write later.

I Just Suddenly Realized...

That I am a grown up. Yes, I've been working for Ticket King for a really long time, so I've had an adult job (as opposed to a Jane job) for quite a long time. But as I'm sitting here sipping (ok, chugging) a dark roast coffee from Starbucks (which is about two blocks down from the office, making this location even that much nicer!), listening to Mozart on Pandora and writing, well, work stuff, I noticed the high school kids running around on W. 7th for the High School Dance Competition and it just kind of hit me. It's real. I'm not only an adult, but a total grown up. I guess you don't really realize that you are growing up until you are grown up. It's kind of like being initiated into this club that you didn't really know you were joining. And you know what? I really like being a grown up.

First Blog Entry

So this is a blog for people interested what's going on at Ticket King St. Paul. Really, it's just about what I'm thinking about down here. We have a really great spot - less than a block from the Xcel Energy Center, and we're right on W. 7th so there is some really GREAT people watching around here. However, I have not seen any of the Minnesota Wild players walk by. Maybe it's just because I probably wouldn't recognize any of them off the ice unless I was paying attention to who is really walking by! Anyway, it's a great spot, and we love meeting our customers, so feel free to stop in and say hi on your way to a Minnesota Wild game!
