NCAA Ice Hockey at the Xcel Energy Center - Minnesota Gophers, St Cloud State, Robert Morris, Notre Dame

Attention College Hockey Fans: the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Regionals are coming to the Xcel Energy Center St Paul this weekend. Come to Ticket King for great tickets. Saturday features a double header with the Minnesota Gophers facing off against Robert Morris at 4:30 pm and St Cloud State facing off against Notre Dame at 8:00pm. Well, all...Ticket King St. Paul FINALLY has some air conditioning! It's so much nicer to have cooler temps in here...especially with the ninety degree weather headed towards us on Friday. And it looks just as good as it feels in this office today! Since the construction is done, the office is finally cleaned up, so it's actually a workable space again, it's not like you're entering a danger zone by coming into Ticket King St. Paul anymore.

I had a W. 7th Street neighbor stop into our office yesterday in the morning wanting to know about our plans for the Republican National Convention that will be taking place at the Xcel Energy Center at the beginning of September. Just as a forewarning, Ticket King St. Paul will most likely not be open that week. Never say never, but it's going to be way too crazy down here for us to warrant being open. In which case I will be working out of our Minneapolis office, which is about two blocks from the Metrodome on the corner of Chicago and Washington, just in time for the start of the Gopher football season!

I love the first home Minnesota Golden Gopher football game. It's like the fall season has really started, and it's so neat to see the marching band line up outside the Metrodome getting everyone riled up for the game. Walking With Dinosaurs

This weekend is the highly anticipated Walking With Dinosaurs shows at the Xcel Energy Center! And we're super busy down here at Ticket King St. Paul selling Walking With Dinosaurs tickets, it's definitely been heating up since last week. What is this super hot show, you ask? Well, originally it was a television production by the BBC that utilized computer generated graphics and animatronic puppets that recreated the life of the Mesozoic era. The show received such high acclaim that it was turned into a live production, and is touring the world. It will consist of two parts, thirty-five minutes each, with a twenty minute intermission. Barack Obama

So. Tonight at the Xcel Energy Center, Barack Obama will be speaking. And it's anticipated that he's going to be receiving the concession statement from Hilary Clinton (who has, by the way, noted her interest in being Obama's running mate), and offiially take the Democratic bid for the presidency. Which means that it is absolutely crazy down here at Ticket King St. Paul. There's 1300 secret service agents ALONE running around on the street down here. Tons of military, and then another 30,000 estimated to be expected to try to get into the Xcel Energy Center tonight. The lines are down the street! I've seriously never, ever, EVER seen it so busy down here. It's like a mini-preview of what the RNC Convention will be like down here later this summer. Wow.
