Grand Old Day

Grand Old Day is this weekend! I am super pumped. Ticket King St. Paul was thinking about participating in the parade this year - which basically meant having one of the girls dress up in the Ticket King mascot for the parade - but unfortunately we didn't get our application in on time. This is like the official start to summer - and definitely one of our favorite Minnesota festivals down here at Ticket King St. Paul. Usually, we start off down on the St. Thomas end and work our way down to Dale, because we like to stop at friends' houses on the way down. I'm not sure if the plan is the same this year, though, because the parade is going in the opposite direction this year. And the bands down in the entertainment district are so fun, it's sooo nice to finally be able to be outside in the sun and listen to live music! Another exciting addition to this year's Grand Old Day celebration - a mechanical bull at Bonfire on Grand. This could be an interesting Sunday....

Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees

Exciting news: one of the biggest MLB series of the year, at least here in Minnesota, is taking place this coming weekend: the Minnesota Twins are taking on the New York Yankees at the HHH Metrodome from Friday through Monday. And Ticket King St. Paul has some really great seats still available. They're selling pretty fast, though, so check out the website or give me a call (651-298-8100). I'm pretty pumped, who doesn't want to see Justin, Joe and the crew take on A-Rod, Jeter and the Yankees? If you can't make it this weekend, don't worry, the New York Yankees will be back in town in August.

Stanley Cup Finals

Airing tonight at Ticket King St. Paul: Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals. On our super large television screen. Not really, but I'm thinking it would be a great idea. Hockey, snacks, the largest screen in St. Paul to watch the game on...sounds like a blissful experience. Which reminds me of something my favorite seven year old told me....

"Ticket King Minneapolis is like a big kitchen, and Ticket King St. Paul is like
a living room. Are you trying to build a house?"

Anyway, since Ticket King St. Paul is so much like a living room, but basically the BEST living room EVER, it would really be the perfect place to watch the Detroit Red Wings take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Finals... :)

Kid Rock Tickets

This weekend, Kid Rock will be playing (Saturday) at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis. Now I wasn't planning on going, but so many people have told me that his shows are AWESOME - and now I'm reconsidering! I guess he plays like every instrument on stage, even spends some time scratching on the spin tables. Everyone that I've talked to says that once you go to one of his concerts, you'll be hooked and want to go again and again, so I think I might need to go down there and check it out! Down here at Ticket King St. Paul, we still have some seats available for the show, and the prices are darn good. Call me (651-298-8100) or order Kid Rock tickets online for this weekend's show before they're gone!

Tina Turner Tickets

So, today is the day that Tina Turner tickets are finally available down here at Ticket King St. Paul for all of you Tina Turner fans out there! This is her first tour since she retired from touring in the year 2000. And by all accounts, this will be the 68 year old's last tour. But who am I to know :) Whenever I think of Tina Turner, I think of the song "Private Dancer". Which reminds me of a little story about my little sister. Back in - well, around - 1993, my dad had a bunch of associates in town for work, who he invited over to our house for a big dinner one night. My little sister, who was four at the time, was absolutely IN LOVE with Tina Turner. So what better idea for her than to slip into her electric blue tu-tu figure skating costume, convince her big sister (that would be yours truly) to announce her to the crowd and do the Tina Turner shimmy for every single one of these engineers at our house from Houston, Texas. It was one of those things that absolutely mortified my parents at the time, but has turned into one of the infamous stories of us growing up keep us laughing to this day. Anyway, that's my Tina Turner story...and probably why I'm going to have to convince my mom that we HAVE to go to this concert! If you're looking for Tina Turner tickets for the newly announced tour, just visit our website, shoot me an email or call me at 651-298-8100!

Star Party

Good thing things are a little slow today at Ticket King St. Paul. I think it's because it is SO nice outside, all people want to do is be out of their office, not thinking about ordering tickets! But like I said, it's alright because I'm a little tired today. Three of my girlfriends and I are madly in love with the band Maroon 5. And secretly in love with Dannity Kane's new song, Damaged. So we decided that we needed to go to Star Party last night to see them :) It was super fun. If you haven't been to a Myth concert before, you should definitely check one out, because the club is awesome! They have a huge sunken dance floor in front of the stage, lots of viewing available on the main level, an upper level that overlooks everything and VIP suites as well. When we first walked into the Myth, Ray J. was playing (is it still called playing when he was really just rapping/singing? That's a good question that I don't have the answer to). Saw Colbie Caillat, sang along to EVERY single Maroon 5 song, met Colbie Caillat's band, danced a little to Dannity Kane (they were definitely not what I expected), so all in all it was a good night. By the way, Colbie Caillat is awesome. Here's my favorite song of hers, Bubbly:

And if you want to check out any upcoming Myth concerts, here's part of the upcoming Myth schedule:

Tuesday, May 27: Panic! At the Disco tickets

Monday, June 16: Jagermeister Tour tickets

Monday, July 28: Rancid tickets

Friday, August 8: Scorpions tickets

Dierks Bentley

I have to admit something. I have an enormous crush on country music star Dierks Bentley. He's soooooooo cute, with or without the curly hair! He's originally from Phoenix, but currently lives in Nashville...unfortunatley for us girls, he's married to longtime girlfriend, Cassidy Black. Buuuut I do have some good news, ladies: The summer Dierks Bentley schedule includes a pit stop at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand! Ticket King St. Paul has some pretty darn good Dierks Bentley tickets available, too. AND he's coming with none other than spit-fire singer Miranda Lambert. I am in love with her new single, Gunpowder and Lead. Everytime it comes on the radio, I can't help myself, I have to crank it and sing along, it's such a good kick some booty girl song! Here's the music video, different from the one they've been showing on CMT, which is just Miranda Lambert in concert. Enjoy!

Baseball, etc.

The Minnesota Twins and the St. Paul Saints seem to be taking over the board at the Ticket King St. Paul office! The majority of the events up right now are baseball-related, and while I love going to games, I don't know that much about baseball. Perhaps I should learn. Or perhaps this Ticket King girl should just stick to what she's good at: getting the good gossip on the players. ;)

It is SO quiet down here at Ticket King St. Paul today. I seriously can't believe how slow it becomes when the Minnesota Wild are done for the season. I mean, I don't even get to watch for Aaron Voros to walk by the Ticket King St. Paul office on his way to Starbucks before his games anymore!

So anyway, here are the hot events that Ticket King St. Paul has tickets for this week:

May 12th: Minnesota Twins vs. Boston Red Sox at the HHH Metrodome

May 13th-15th: Minnesota Twins vs. Toronto Blue Jays at the HHH Metrodome

May 16th: Bryan Adams at the Pantages Theater

May 17th: Lisa Williams at the Orpheum Theater

Yep. That's it. Seriously. BUT. Next week we'll have Coldplay tickets!!!

Short Week

It's been a short week for me down here at Ticket King St. Paul - just yesterday and today. And yesterday was a little confusing. I kept thinking it was Tuesday. It's so nice down here at Ticket King St. Paul! We've had the door propped open for the last two days and it's really starting to smell like summer outside. Okay, that might be kind of weird to say. But summer really does have a scent here in Minnesota. And I can really tell that people are excited about the nice weather at Ticket King St. Paul - there are always people out on the patios/decks at the restaurants that surround Ticket King St. Paul, the Eagle Street Grill and The Liffey.
This beautiful weather is making me want to drive around in my car with the music turned up. So we are jamming out to Rascal Flatts in the Ticket King St. Paul office today :) So I thought everyone else should have a little more Rascal Flatts in their life, too. Here's one of their music videos from youtube:

Oh, and I'm really excited because we just found out that Coldplay is going to be adding the Xcel Energy Center to the Coldplay schedule this summer! We'll have tickets on the Ticket King St. Paul website as soon as they're available!

Weather at Ticket King St. Paul

I just flew back into Minnesota, and the weather here is so beautiful! I haven't been down to Ticket King St. Paul yet, but I've heard it's just as nice there. Seriously, having 70s outside is such a treat! Although it does feel a little chilly coming back from 90 degree weather. I do have to say that I've missed being down at Ticket King St. Paul and talking with all of my customers while I've been gone, it will be fun to get abck to Ticket King St. Paul tomorrow and be busy all day.
P.S. If you haven't voted in the official Ticket King St. Paul blog poll yet, make sure you do before it ends! It's in the top right corner of the main page!

Ticket King St. Paul Change-Up

Well, guys, I'm going out of town for a few days. This on and off snow thing is pretty crazy, so I'll be in Arizona for the better part of the next week - which means that Kristy will be filling in for me at Ticket King St. Paul while I'm gone. Stop in and say hi if you're down there, I'm sure she'd love to see you!

Minnesota Twins

I just got off the phone with my Milwaukee office - and apparently, the Milwaukee Brewers lost last night to the Chicago Cubs 19-5. The Chicago Cubs scored NINETEEN runs. That is just unbelievable to me! How does that happen, the Milwaukee Brewers are a good team, and even if the Chicago Cubs are better, there is no possible way that they are THAT much better! I'm so confused. Oddly enough, our Minnesota Twins have been playing the other Chicago team this week - the Chicago White Sox. And we've actually been winning. Now, I don't know a whole lot about baseball, but I do know that it's a really good thing when we beat another team in our division. And yes, it is really early in the year, the MLB season doesn't really pick up until after school gets out for the kiddies - aka when it's actually warm in Minnesota. Speaking of being warm, I had another person - my mom, actually - tell me that they think it's going to be a cool summer. Noooooooooo! After the winter we had, all of us at Ticket King St. Paul are anxiously awaiting a very warm summer!

Anyway, I'm getting off track. Back to the Minnesota Twins. I got an email the other day from the Minnesota Twins. Apparently they're having some trouble selling seats to these early games. So for the last two games, they offered "All You Can Eat" seats for an additional, oh, like $15 or something. Seriously? When did a Minnesota Twins game suddenly become a buffet? Yes, having popcorn or peanuts or a Dome dog are part of the experience, I get that! But who is really going to eat, oh, say, three Dome dogs, two bags of peanuts, cotton candy, mini-donuts, and who knows what else. It makes my tummy hurt just thinking about it. Plus, being the seat snob that I am (it comes with the territory), I would much rather pay that money towards better seats. Seriously, we at Ticket King St. Paul have lower level tickets for these games for less than these strange buffet upper level tickets. So you could honestly buy a ticket from Ticket King, get a Dome dog and a soda when you get there, and end up paying less and not gorging yourself on the super fancy "buffet" at the Dome. Just a thought.
